Suburban Philadelphia Zoning and Land Use Associate

About the role

The position supports our rapidly growing suburban Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley and Central Pennsylvania land use and zoning practice.

Responsibilities

• Representing property owners, developers, tenants and/or municipalities in numerous aspects of the land entitlement and development process
• Preparing and filing zoning/use permit applications
• Reviewing and interpreting zoning plans
• Appearing before zoning and planning boards and community organizations
• Appellate experience is a plus

Requirements

• Strong academic credentials, including a J.D. or equivalent degree from a well-respected U.S. law school
• Familiarity with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC)
• Excellent writing and analytical skills
• Proactive and self-starting
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond productively to direction and feedback and to work well with staff and leadership
• An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, manage workflow priorities and meet deadlines
• Be a team player – be collaborative and work with a spirit of camaraderie
• Outstanding attention to accuracy and detail and commitment to work product that is thorough, complete and excellent
• Admitted to PA Bar
