Duties and Responsibilities
Promotes, plans for, and encourages children’s play.
Provides balanced instruction that addresses the development of the intellectual, social/emotional, and physical abilities of the student in an environment that is structured, but not rigid.
Plans for and implements developmentally appropriate learning activities that support the current thematic unit.
Prepares materials for activities and connects children to resources that support their learning.
Helps children develop by modeling, assisting, and encouraging participation in a variety of activities and appropriate behaviors.
Reviews BEE rules and participates in school wide behavior plan.
Writes weekly lesson plans that support the thematic units.
Makes observation/informal assessment of children’s learning, play, and social interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Bachelor’s degree in education preferred - Certification in Early Childhood Education (related certification may be considered)
OR at least two years of experience working with young children in an early childhood setting

- Bachelor’s degree in education preferred
