Substitute Teacher (PLEASE READ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BELOW)

Procedure for Applicants

To apply to be a substitute teacher (or paid coach) with the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District, follow these steps:

• Apply online for a NJ substitute teacher certificate at NJ Educator Certification.
• Select 'Credential' and choose the specific certificate: Instructional Substitute (30 credit minimum requirement).
• Upload a PDF of your unofficial college/university transcripts to the district application.
• Provide the case number issued by NJEdCert upon completion of your online application.
• Upload a PDF copy of your teaching or substitute certificate (if you already hold one).
• Complete and submit the NJ Fingerprint Background Check form.
• Pay the necessary fees assessed by the state.
• Receive notification of your board approval and complete the hiring process.
• Be provided with an ID badge, AESOP/Frontline Absence Management login, a district email address, and required annual Public School Works online training.

Required Documentation

• Criminal History Clearance uploaded to the application (fingerprint approval from the Department of Education Only)
• Transcripts must be requested electronically and sent to AtlanticCoSubstitutes@doe.nj.gov
• Military verification (if applicable and requesting a fee waiver)
• Mantoux (TB) test performed by a medical provider of your choice
