Substitute Teacher / per-diem childcare teacher / early childhood education
On-call substitute position for individuals seeking flexible hours, such as retirees, college students, or those looking for supplemental income. The Tot Spot in Concord is a licensed child care program seeking nurturing, patient, and gentle substitutes to work with toddlers (1-3 years old) on an on-call/per diem basis.
About the Role
Pay: $16–20/hr or more based on experience and education. The program is open 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. You provide your general availability, and we contact you when staff need time off for vacations, sick days, or appointments. Accept or decline shifts as your schedule permits.
This is an on-call position and not a permanent staff role. No benefits are offered.
Responsibilities
- Cover staff days off and vacancies.
- Support full-time teachers.
- Mentor and engage with children aged 12 months to 3.6 years.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal times, naps, circle time, outdoor play, child-led activities, and potty training/diapering.
Requirements
- Pass a criminal record and fingerprint check.
- Obtain or have current First Aid/CPR certification (required within the first 90 days of employment).
- Complete NH DHHS Health and Safety trainings within the first 90 days of employment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, sit, squat, move from floor to standing, stand for extended periods, walk, and perform light cleaning duties.
Qualifications
- Experience or education credits in early childhood education preferred but not required.
- Must enjoy working with toddlers and young children.
