About the role
Dawson School—a K-12 independent school located just east of Boulder—is seeking qualified Substitute Teachers for the 2026–27 academic year. Substitute Teachers play a vital role in supporting student learning by stepping in for regular classroom teachers on a short-term basis.
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans and instructions designed by the absent teacher
- Supervise school or student activities
- Enforce school and class rules to maintain order in the classroom
- Operate equipment such as computers or audiovisual aids to supplement presentations
- Additional duties as deemed necessary by the School
Requirements
- A High School diploma
- Strong classroom management skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
Qualifications
- Teaching experience preferred

Benefits
This temporary position offers an hourly wage of $22.00, with a minimum guarantee of three hours of pay for each day worked. While the position is not benefits-eligible, lunch is provided at no cost.

The hourly wage for this position is $22.00.
Schedule
Substitute teaching opportunities are available on an ongoing basis throughout the school year.
