Substitute Teacher JK-12 (AY 26-27)

Description

Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students. Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment. Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student. Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria. Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan. For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher’s past lesson plans.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Candidates should have experience working with children in individual and group settings. They must be nurturing, professional, and supportive.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 21 years of age preferred (consideration will be given to qualified candidates at least 18 years of age with an associate's degree in progress to meet staffing needs)
• Associates degree or higher in education or related field
• A valid and current Substitute Teacher license preferred
• One year of teaching experience in a JK-12 setting preferred
