Key Responsibilities

  • Teach subject matter, in the absence of regular teacher, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other appropriate learning activities.
  • Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilize effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences which best utilize the time available for instruction.
  • Understand and use computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
  • Maintain classroom organization and discipline.
  • Establish and maintain standard of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning environment.
  • Devise and utilize techniques which accurately measure students' progress.
  • Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff in academic and personal growth areas.
  • Demonstrate professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional practices Advisory Commission.
  • Conform to school policies, including attendance, absences and evaluations.

About The Role

Location – Multiple Locations: Ogden, SLC, Springville, and St. George. Background Check Required – You must successfully pass a criminal history check. Drug Test Required – No

Pay

Salary for applicant with no license is $18.00 LSL or $19.00 (ASL) an hour. Salary for applicants with a degree in education is $25.00.

Schedule

Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack, etc. Risks are related to the possibility of working with students who are non-compliant, self-abusive, and/or aggressive. American Sign Language (ASL) skills required for some deaf/hard-of-hearing classes. These positions are on an as needed basis only, Monday through Friday for up to 7-1/2 (seven-and-one-half) hours per day for nine (9) months during each school year.
