ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must follow detailed lesson plans and schedules assigned by academic teacher.
- Oversee students outside of the classroom, in hallways, and during all transition times.
- Comply with FSYR and Cooke School policy and procedures.
- Must be able to work with youth and manage classroom effectively.
- Take attendance and document pertinent behaviors on school notes.
- Ensure classroom cleanliness.
- Must be flexible with availability.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- The person filling this position must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with youth or experience in a similar position is preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each area of responsibility satisfactorily.
- Must be fully qualified to instruct or teach the students in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Must have the ability to interact and relate with youth in care.
- Must be detail oriented and be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Must have a valid Florida Driver License and be able to maintain a safe driving record consistent with agency policy.
BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
