Westminster Schools of Augusta is a Pre-K through 12 regionally-accredited, coeducational, college-preparatory, Christian day school enrolling close to 650 students. The 34-acre campus is located in a residential section of Augusta, which is Georgia’s second-largest metropolitan area. The school is affiliated with First Presbyterian Church of Augusta (PCA), but the student body and faculty include members from more than 90 different local churches of various denominations. We are interested in receiving applications from Christian school educators who view their calling as teaching and discipling students for the advancement of God’s kingdom as we equip students to live extraordinary lives for Jesus Christ. Substitute Teacher Essential Functions & Expectation In the absence of the regular classroom teacher to help students to learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classroomsCarries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacherCreates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the studentsGuides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or projects assignedEmploys instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectivesMaintains a neat and orderly classroom. Straightens chairs, tables, clears chalkboard, etc.Takes attendance in accordance with school proceduresIndicates to students at beginning of class the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with school policyInsures that the students are never left unattended in the classroomMay perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, etc.Knows emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assignedKnows procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problemsKnows school procedures and regulationsPerforms other related duties as directed by principalUse of personal electronic equipment is prohibited during class hours.
