Qualifications
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate appropriate for the assignment
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning; Master's degree preferred
- Successful teaching experience across all grade levels, preferred
- Successful experience teaching across diverse populations, preferred
- Willingness and desire to assist a teaching team in implementing an interdisciplinary instructional program
- Familiarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques which are used to maximize student learning
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment in a program focused on improving student learning
- Willingness and desire to collaborate with assigned Professional Learning Community, if requested
- Cooperates as a professional team member, represents the best interests of the school, and accepts faculty responsibilities if requested
- Sets an example for students in emotional stability, self-control, courtesy, and appearance
- Knowledge of, or experience with, a variety of teaching strategies, i.e. cooperative learning, integrated curriculum, whole language, etc.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Advanced ability to use technology as an effective communication, planning, and instructional tool
- Willingness to participate in professional development courses aligned with the school and district initiatives, if requested
Essential Functions
- Teaches assigned content with a high degree of skill which may include an assignment to a combination grade-level classroom
- Teaches in an instructional program that meets the students’ individual needs at their individual instructional level and makes modifications when necessary
- Integrates technology into learning
- Works as an enthusiastic part of a learning-centered environment believing that each student can learn
- Uses the Professional Learning Community process to improve instruction, learning, and assessment, if requested
- Maintains effective, positive classroom management
- Provides a safe environment and handles discipline in a positive manner
- Actively engages students in using technology in individual and collaborative learning activities
- Works in a flexible and cooperative manner
- Treats co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
- Serves as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance and hours of operation as set by the assigned building/location to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements

Benefits/Compensation
- Regular Rate: $28.00 (hourly)
- Enhanced Rate: $30.95 (hourly) (Must work 25 full days in a semester and will receive the enhanced rate the following semester)
