About the role
The substitute teacher reports to the Principal Teacher and the School Director. The primary responsibility is to support the Lead Teacher in meeting the needs of the classroom and students, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and assigned tasks.

Requirements
- High School Degree plus Early Childhood NC Credentials (with at least 18 EC Ed credits) or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology.
- Associate's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development or Child Development.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English).
- At least one year of verifiable experience in early childhood.
- Desirable certification in CPR and first aid.
- Criminal background check through DHHS.

- Adaptability to movement: Ability to perform rapid and precise movements when necessary to ensure the safety of children, such as assisting during play or in risky situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Lead Teacher in planning and executing educational activities, ensuring they align with SFF! guidelines and policies.
- Supervises and manages daily classroom activities, promoting a structured and enriching environment.
- Aids in maintaining daily attendance records of children and reports any incidents to the Lead Teacher or administrative team.
- Guarantees that all activities comply with DCDEE regulations and SFF! standards.
- Participates actively in planning meetings, training sessions, and school events, contributing with ideas and practical solutions to improve the educational experience.
- Supports event preparation and execution, ensuring the integration and well-being of children and families.
- Maintains classroom safety and hygiene, following SFF! and DCDEE guidelines, keeping the classroom clean, organized, and free from risks.
- Safeguards materials and toys, ensuring they are safe, appropriate, and regularly disinfected.
- Maintains children's hygiene practices, promoting healthy habits like hand washing and organizing belongings.
- Promotes positive interactions among children, helping them develop social skills and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Provides emotional and physical support when needed, respecting each child's individuality and specific needs.
