Substitute Teacher
About the role
The Redwood City School District (RCSD) is seeking a substitute teacher to provide an educational program for pupils in grades 4-5 or a combination thereof. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community while supporting a dynamic and inclusive educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide an educational program utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning activities.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, determine and keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports.
- Communicate with parents on the individual student’s progress.
- Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school of assignment and/or on a district level during the assigned working day.
- Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
- Administer group standardized tests in accordance with district testing program.
- Perform basic attendance accounting and business services as required.
Requirements
- Minimum Educational Level: Bachelor's degree
- Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential

Benefits
