Qualifications
- High School Graduate/GED Workshop completion required, Teaching Certificate preferred.
Essential Functions
- Supervision of assigned students at ALL times.
- Reports to the building principals or designee upon arrival at the school building.
- Reviews with the principal, department head, or team leader all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Maintains as fully possible the established routines/procedures of the school and classrooms to which is assigned.
- Teaches the lesson outline and/or activities described in the Substitute Teacher’s Guide as prepared by the absent teacher.
- Consults as appropriate, with the building principal, department head, or team leader before initiating and teaching or other procedures not specified in the Substitute Teacher’s Guide.
- Assumes responsibilities for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.
- Reports in writing, on the form provided by the school secretary, on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
- Fulfills responsibilities for all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the immediate supervisor may from time to time assign.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

The general physical requirements of this position.

The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
