Substitute Teacher

About the role

This role is responsible for implementing lesson plans provided by regular classroom teachers, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, and supporting students' academic progress across various grade levels and subject areas. Daily responsibilities include delivering instruction, supervising classroom activities, managing student behavior, and adapting teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs. The Substitute Teacher will collaborate with faculty and staff as needed, follow school policies and procedures, and ensure continuity of learning when regular teachers are absent.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Strong Teaching and Education skills, with the ability to instruct students across multiple grade levels
• Effective Communication skills to interact clearly and respectfully with students, colleagues, and families
• Lesson Planning and Training skills to implement existing plans and adjust activities to support student learning
• Experience working in school or youth-focused settings, with a demonstrated commitment to student safety and well-being
• Ability to manage classrooms, support diverse learners, and follow established school procedures
• Flexibility to teach different subjects and grade levels as needed and to adapt to changing schedules
• High school diploma required; college coursework in education or a related field and/or teaching licensure are preferred
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and respect for diversity and inclusion in an educational environment
