Substitute Teacher

Description

Lycée Français is looking for qualified French-speaking and English-speaking substitute teachers for all grades. Experience working with children in groups or one-on-one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter. Flexible schedule, willingness to adapt to multiple scenarios, and self-motivated work ethic.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead Teacher Substitution: Implementing the lesson plan provided by the school or classroom teacher, Providing instruction to students on a variety of classroom subjects and topics, Maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning
• Teaching Assistant Substitutes: Assisting the classroom teacher in maintaining a safe and productive learning environment, Working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts that were presented in the lesson plan
• Lunch Duty Assistance: Assisting with lunch/recess duty maintaining a safe environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Experience in instruction in an elementary, middle, or secondary school setting
• Flexibility and a team-spirit work ethic
• Well developed interpersonal skills
• Must be in New Orleans

Preferred Qualifications

• Louisiana Certification
• Bachelor's degree
• Three or more years teaching experience
• Fluency in French and knowledge and experience in the French curriculum
• Experience in differentiating instruction, and supporting students with learning challenges
