Substitute Teacher
Description
Lycée Français is looking for qualified French-speaking and English-speaking substitute teachers for all grades. Experience working with children in groups or one-on-one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter. Flexible schedule, willingness to adapt to multiple scenarios, and self-motivated work ethic.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead Teacher Substitution: Implementing the lesson plan provided by the school or classroom teacher, Providing instruction to students on a variety of classroom subjects and topics, Maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning
- Teaching Assistant Substitutes: Assisting the classroom teacher in maintaining a safe and productive learning environment, Working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts that were presented in the lesson plan
- Lunch Duty Assistance: Assisting with lunch/recess duty maintaining a safe environment
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Experience in instruction in an elementary, middle, or secondary school setting
- Flexibility and a team-spirit work ethic
- Well developed interpersonal skills
- Must be in New Orleans
Preferred Qualifications
- Louisiana Certification
- Bachelor's degree
- Three or more years teaching experience
- Fluency in French and knowledge and experience in the French curriculum
- Experience in differentiating instruction, and supporting students with learning challenges
