Substitute Teacher

About the role

Legacy Academy is a private, Christian discipleship school serving preschool through grade 12 students. With its continued growth and expanding student body, they are seeking a full-time substitute teacher.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for teachers who are out for short- or long-term absences, ensuring a smooth continuation of instruction and classroom order.
• Work under the guidance of administration to support classroom learning and uphold Legacy Academy’s Christ-centered mission.
• Gain experience across multiple grade levels and subjects, developing practical skills and a deeper understanding of Christian education.
• Absorb and apply classroom management, student dynamics, and effective teaching strategies learned from seasoned teachers.
• Communicate clearly and positively with students, staff, and administration to ensure a consistent and engaging learning environment.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (required).
• College coursework or degree in Education, Math, English, or Science preferred.
• Ability to meet state and federal requirements, including background check and fingerprinting.
• Current CPR/Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
