About the role
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Substitute Teachers to join our educational team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to engage with the curriculum in the absence of their regular teacher.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and deliver instruction in accordance with established curriculum guidelines.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
- Foster a supportive atmosphere for students, encouraging participation and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance during the assignment period.
- Collaborate with other educators to develop curriculum and lesson plans that enhance student learning experiences.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Experience in tutoring or providing individualized support to students is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of special education practices, literacy education, and math instruction.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Previous private school experience or experience working with students on the autism spectrum is beneficial.
- A background in curriculum development and lesson planning is preferred but not mandatory.
