Substitute Teacher

About the role

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Substitute Teachers to join our educational team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to engage with the curriculum in the absence of their regular teacher.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and deliver instruction in accordance with established curriculum guidelines.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs.
• Foster a supportive atmosphere for students, encouraging participation and engagement.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance during the assignment period.
• Collaborate with other educators to develop curriculum and lesson plans that enhance student learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
• Experience in tutoring or providing individualized support to students is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of special education practices, literacy education, and math instruction.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Previous private school experience or experience working with students on the autism spectrum is beneficial.
• A background in curriculum development and lesson planning is preferred but not mandatory.
