Substitute Teacher

About the Role

A Substitute Teacher provides temporary instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction and a safe, respectful learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in a classroom setting.
• Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher.
• Manage student behavior and ensure classroom order.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Report attendance, incidents, or concerns to appropriate staff.
• Follow district and school policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and Associate's Degree (minimum).
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to various classroom settings.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Background check and fingerprint clearance (as required by the district).

Must meet the Chautauqua County Civil Service requirements.
