Substitute Teacher

About the role

Part‑time substitute teacher for a classical and Catholic classroom, working as needed (approximately 13 hours per week) at the Regina Caeli Academy location in Spring, Texas. Substitutes are called when regular staff are absent and may decline if unavailable.

Responsibilities

• Teach lessons in a structured Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays.
• Prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to instruct.
• Follow RCA curriculum and grading guidelines.
• Maintain classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Complete required background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching.

Requirements

• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Demonstrated deep love for the Catholic faith and living it day‑to‑day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one’s state in life.
• Willingness to undergo a background check and Safe Child training.

Qualifications

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children is a plus.
• Ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, or teaching your own children is beneficial.
• Prior teaching in a classical or private school setting is helpful but not required.
• No formal teaching certification or prior teaching experience is necessary; training will be provided.
