About the role
Auburn-Washburn USD 437 seeks substitute teachers to fill temporary teaching positions in various elementary and secondary schools across the district. Rates of pay are $125 per full day and $62.50 per half day for non-USD 437 teachers, and $130 per day and $65 per half day for former USD 437 teachers.
Employment-Process Information
- Cleared Background Checks – Criminal and Child Abuse & Neglect Registry (paid for by the district)
- Certification of Health - Negative TB test & Signed Statement of Satisfactory Health
- STEDI Training (mandatory for ESUB holders who haven't completed a teacher-prep program from an accredited university) (paid for by the district)
- Completed employment paperwork
- Copy of KSDE Teaching License (Professional/Initial, Standard Substitute, or Emergency Substitute)
Qualifications/Certificates/Licenses
- This process is handled exclusively through KSDE and not the district.
- Emergency Substitute License (60+ College Credits)
- Modified Emergency Sub License (-60 College Credits)
- Standard Substitute License (completed teaching program)
- Professional/Initial Teaching License
