Substitute Teacher Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to join our team as Substitute Teacher Assistants. This role is ideal for those who love young children and are passionate about early childhood development. You will work with preschool-aged children, including those with special needs, providing enjoyable and meaningful activities in a caring environment.

Flexible part-time opportunities are available, including:

• Substitute Teacher Assistant (hours vary each week, flexible schedule between 7 am - 5:30 pm)
• Daycare Opener (as early as 7 am)
• Childcare Center Closer (until 5:30 pm)

Monday through Friday hours, with flexibility based on your availability.

Responsibilities

• Engage with preschool-aged children, including those with special needs, in developmentally appropriate activities.
• Support lead teachers and staff in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
• Assist with daily routines, including opening or closing the childcare center as needed.
• Collaborate with a team of caregivers to ensure a positive experience for all children.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• NYS Teacher Assistant (TA) Certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with special needs children and preschool-aged children is a plus.
• Babysitting experience is helpful but not required.
• High energy level, caring personality, and a love for working with children.
• Teamwork mentality and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to college students pursuing an education degree or individuals with prior experience in childcare, daycare, or preschool settings.

About Us

Little Lukes Preschool and Childcare Center provides an award-winning curriculum for children ages 3 to 5 years, including integrated classrooms for typically developing children and those with special needs. We offer a range of positions, including Teacher Assistants, Lead Teachers, Special Education Teachers, and support roles like Receptionist, Daycare Opener, and Childcare Center Closer.

In addition to childcare roles, we provide pediatric speech language pathologist, occupational therapist, and physical therapist jobs, delivering speech, OT, and PT services within our preschool classrooms.
