Substitute Teacher Aide -Head Start Program (Part-time)

About the role

The Substitute Teacher Aide - Head Start Program (Part-time) position is available to fill a temporary vacancy within the Head Start Program. This role supports the implementation of all aspects of the Head Start Program in the classroom setting, ensuring students' safety and meeting individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Fills vacant position of Teacher Aide and ensures students are safe and their needs are met.
• Adapts to class functions and schedule, supporting the Teacher in meeting the individual needs of children.
• Assists in implementing lesson plans, setting up materials, and maintaining documentation.
• Maintains a positive communication system between parents and the Head Start Program.
• Uses active supervision strategies to ensure safety and accountability of all children.
• Cleans classroom daily and arranges materials to facilitate learning.
• Communicates positively with children and responds to early morning substitution calls.
• Attends training programs, meetings, and in-services as required.
• Maintains certifications, licenses, and first aid/cpr qualifications.
• Provides breaks to classroom staff as assigned.
• Operates an automobile for travel between various classroom sites.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field.
• Previous experience working with preschool age children.
• Previous experience working in the Head Start Program.
