The Overlake School, founded in 1967, is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational, college preparatory day school serving grades 5–12. Responsibilities

• Accept substitute assignments to cover classes for the day, sometimes on short notice.
• Teach three to four classes a day.
• Follow the plan provided by the teacher; do not initiate your own plan unless there are extenuating circumstances.
• Reinforce a culture of respect and on-task behavior with students.
• Take attendance at the beginning of each class.
• Send a report to the teacher at the end of each class, updating on how the block went.

Requirements

• Experience teaching middle school or high school age students of all backgrounds.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
• Effective classroom management skills, including flexibility and improvisation.
• Proficiency with classroom technology and email.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation.

Pay

$24 per class (block) / $24 per hour.
