The Overlake School, founded in 1967, is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational, college preparatory day school serving grades 5–12. Responsibilities
- Accept substitute assignments to cover classes for the day, sometimes on short notice.
- Teach three to four classes a day.
- Follow the plan provided by the teacher; do not initiate your own plan unless there are extenuating circumstances.
- Reinforce a culture of respect and on-task behavior with students.
- Take attendance at the beginning of each class.
- Send a report to the teacher at the end of each class, updating on how the block went.
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school or high school age students of all backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
- Effective classroom management skills, including flexibility and improvisation.
- Proficiency with classroom technology and email.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Pass a background check.
- Reliable transportation.
Pay
$24 per class (block) / $24 per hour.
