Substitute Support

About the role

The Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD) is seeking substitute support staff to assist in various roles within the school system. These positions include Substitute Cook, Substitute Custodial Worker, Substitute School Office Assistant, and Substitute Teacher Aide.

Responsibilities

• Substitute Cook: Prepare and serve meals according to USDA and DESE guidelines. Perform kitchen clean-up duties. Follow health standards and food service training plans.
• Substitute Custodial Worker: Clean and maintain the building. Safely operate custodial equipment. Maintain an orderly and safe environment. Demonstrate effective safety skills.
• Substitute School Office Assistant: Type, file, and answer phone. Maintain databases and assist staff. Open, sort, and distribute mail. Answer visitor inquiries and order supplies.
• Substitute Teacher Aide: Assist teachers in implementing student programs. Accommodate individual student needs. Supervise students during off-campus instruction. Perform daily self-care tasks. Follow special health care procedures.

Qualifications

• All Substitute Positions: High School diploma or GED. Experience working with individuals with severe disabilities preferred.
