Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the classroom in large and small groups with varied activities.
  • Carrying out instructional programs and lessons.
  • Assisting students in special areas such as swimming, music and speech.
  • Serving, feeding and assisting students at the lunch table.
  • Supervising and assisting students on and off of the school buses.
  • Supervising and assisting students on outdoor recess.

Qualifications

  • Licensure Pathways for Substitute Teacher:
    • Hold a 2-year Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university and complete an approved Substitute Training Program.
    • Be enrolled in an Educator Preparation Program (junior status), be at least 20 years of age, and have completed 15 hours of classroom observation.
  • Licensure Pathway for Substitute Paraprofessional:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

BASIS OF PAYMENT: Hourly.

WISCONSIN RETIREMENT: Employees expected to work less than 1200 hours per year will not receive this benefit. If an employee works 1200 hours, is employed for at least one year, and is not under 20 attending high school full-time. The employee will be expected to pay the employee portion.
Walworth County will pay employer required contributions pursuant to state law.
