Substitute Preschool Teacher

About the role

The Substitute Preschool Teacher supports early childhood education programs across the country, focusing on children aged 3 to 4 years old.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children, including improving their readiness for school through literacy, phonemic awareness, numeracy, language, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintains a safe, healthy learning environment by ensuring the required adult-child ratio and proper supervision of children.
• Socially supports the emotional development of children and uses positive guidance strategies to address challenging behaviors.
• Encourages family involvement in the Head Start program and fosters relationships between children and their families.
• Collaborates effectively with other teachers in the assigned classroom and center.
• Fulfills all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and center operations.
• Communicates proactively with the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist regarding any changes to the schedule.
• Participates in assigned meetings, events, and training as required.

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
