Substitute Paraprofessionals for 2026/2027

Summary of Responsibilities

• Teacher aides to substitute on an as needed basis to cover daily Paraprofessional staff absences
• Under the direction of the certified staff member/team to which they are assigned, assist students with special needs that may include behavioral and/or emotional needs throughout the day with academics and daily school activities
• Assist the students in following a strict schedule and diapering needs
• Aid the students and teacher to ensure the success of students meeting their IEP goals

Qualifications

• MUST hold a valid Illinois ELS (Paraprofessional) license or Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Applicant must be physically able to assist student throughout the building
• Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed
• Experience with special needs children preferred
• Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students
