Substitute Meal Transporter (Part-Time) (Local Government) - Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging

About the Role

The Part‑Time Substitute Meal Transporter position with the Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging supports older adults by ensuring they receive warm, nutritious meals. The role helps keep seniors safe and comfortable while contributing to a caring team that values responsibility and kindness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain weekly service rosters with accurate dates, client information, and meal totals.
• Deliver meals to client homes using the shortest and safest routes.
• Report changes in client health or circumstances to the office promptly.
• Maintain organized case records and reconcile meal counts each week.
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean and in safe condition.
• Place insulated containers (up to 30 lb) into the vehicle, remove them one meal at a time for delivery, and navigate stairs when needed.

Schedule

• Part‑time substitute employment.
• Six‑week training period; after successful completion, the employee will be on call as needed.
• Must use personal vehicle for deliveries.
• No telework option.

Pay

Hourly rate: $13.25 plus the current IRS mileage rate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months experience operating a motor vehicle as a regular duty, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with no suspensions in the past three years.
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements; preference given to candidates residing in Lebanon County.
• Ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting insulated containers up to 30 lb and navigating stairs.
• Willingness to submit criminal history reports as part of a conditional offer of employment.
