Substitute Maintenance: General, Electrical and Plumbing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrates aptitude or competence for duties as assigned
• Experience in building maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment preferred

Job Goal

Maintain the physical school plant and district equipment in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of each may be used at all times.

Performance Responsibilities

• Assist and or perform installation and repair of district toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, drinking fountains, flush valves, faucets, and kitchen equipment.
• Affiliate and or perform installation and maintenance on doors, windows, locks, lighting, electrical and other building equipment and furnishings as needed.
• Affiliate with preventative maintenance of district air handling units, unit ventilators, fans, air compressors, air dryers, air conditioners, coolers-freezers and other related HVAC equipment.
• Affiliate with preventative and general maintenance on tractors, mowers, and other ground equipment as needed.
• Affiliate with snow removal and spreading of salt-sand on district-owned parking lots and playgrounds.
• Be available for an on call person in the event of an emergency and/or responding to district alarm calls.
• Move chairs, risers, band, and other equipment as directed to various district buildings.
• Affiliate and/or perform replacement of district sidewalks and concrete as determined by the appropriate supervisor.
• Keep all district roofs and roof drains clear of all debris as directed.
• Affiliate and/or maintain district maintenance vehicles as required.
• Affiliate with other maintenance personnel in their normal duties as requested by the appropriate supervisor.
• Affiliate district lunch van routes on an as needed basis for the purpose of delivering student meals to the various buildings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
