Substitute Janitor

Substitute Hourly Janitor positions available district-wide on an as-needed basis for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an at-will position not associated with any collective bargaining association. No medical benefits provided.

About the Role

Provide students, staff, and community members with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment for learning, playing, and development. Reports to the Principal and/or Building Supervisor/Head Custodian.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties using appropriate methods, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain physical strength, agility, and dexterity to complete required tasks.

Requirements

• Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
• New Jersey resident or willingness to relocate.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Successful completion of controlled substance testing and criminal history background check.
• Possess a Black Seal Fireman’s License for boiler operation or willingness to obtain one within one year of employment.

Pay

$26.40 per hour.
