JANITOR

About the Role

Perform a wide range of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment in our facilities.

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing/buffing machines.
• Dust and wash walls, clean ceilings, and dust/polish light fixtures, sometimes using ladders.
• Wash blinds and remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Empty trash cans and clean kitchen, breakroom, office, bathroom, and locker areas.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 70 lbs. with assistance occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Ability to speak and hear for safety and productivity.
• Ability to lift overhead.
• Ability to work overtime as an essential part of the position due to demand.
• Ability to work in temperature ranges from +70°F to 0°F with moderate noise levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for high levels of interaction with others.
• Good arithmetic and reading skills.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and company policies.
• Self-starter who can work independently and coordinate with others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing stress and productivity guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications.
• Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if required.
• Initiate action to prevent non-conformities related to product, process, and quality systems.
• Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes, and/or quality, and recommend or provide solutions.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.
• Participate in safety and educational training.
