Substitute Janitor

About the role

Substitute Janitors are needed district-wide to be used on an as needed basis. This is an at-will position not associated with any collective bargaining association. The goal is to provide students, staff and community members with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean place in which to learn, play, and develop.

Qualifications

• Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician
• Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform required tasks
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities
• Must possess a Black Seal Fireman’s License for boiler operation or be willing to obtain one within one year of employment

Requirements

• New Jersey resident or willingness to relocate
• Controlled substance testing and successful completion of a criminal history background check are required
• Fluent in spoken and written English
