Substitute Elementary Paraeducator - #8472

Requirements

• Previous experience working with groups of children is preferred.
• Must pre-qualify by providing one of the following documents:
  • A passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 or later). Schedule a testing appointment.
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
  • Official transcripts demonstrating completion of two years of college (48 semester or 60 quarter units).
  • Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
• If your degree or transcripts are from a foreign college or university, you must have your coursework evaluated for equivalency to a degree from an accredited U.S. institution.
• In some programs, possession of—or willingness and ability to obtain—a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment or vehicle requiring this license.
• Willingness to be trained in and use non-violent intervention, behavior intervention, and physical restraint techniques.
