Substitute Cleaner

About the role

Performs routine cleaning duties in public buildings, parking structures, and adjacent yards and sidewalks. This position does not require handyman repairs or furnace care.

Responsibilities

• Mops and/or sweeps floors, corridors, and stairs
• Cleans lavatories, when applicable
• Dusts desks, chairs, tables, bookshelves, and filing cabinets
• Empties trash receptacles
• Waxes furniture and floors
• Washes windows, walls, and partitions
• Vacuums floors, rugs, and carpets
• Moves furniture
• Mows lawns
• May shovel snow, clean sidewalks, yards, and driveways

Requirements

• Familiarity with building/structure cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
• Ability to use building cleaning supplies and equipment
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions
• Willingness to perform manual tasks
• Thoroughness, dependability, and honesty
• Physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position
• Ability to read, write, and understand English

Pay

$18.00/hour
