Substitute Cleaner

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fingerprinting and background clearance through the State Education Department
• Positive communication with outside organizations, parents, students and faculty
• Ability to perform duties as assigned by the Principal or Head Custodian
• Willingness to undertake any training relevant to the role
• Team player with punctual and reliable attendance
• Ability to prioritize work and work with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to adapt to changing demands
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Respect for and value of diverse experiences, ideas and backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Clean bathroom basins and sinks
• Refill toilet paper and paper towel dispensers
• Replenish liquid soap in soap dispensers
• Wipe and wash down bathroom tiles using appropriate cleaners and disinfectants
• Clean and polish mirrors and wipe residual paintwork
• Empty trash bins and place them in recycle receptacles
• Scrub and mop floors using cleaner
• Vacuum rugs and carpets and remove stains using brushes and cleaners
• Dust and mop hard flooring using appropriate cleaning devices (brooms, mop, etc)
• Clean and dust furniture such as desks, chairs, etc
• Wipe down grubby hand marks and sanitize floors
• Clean and wash trash bins on a regular basis
• Remove marks from doors and windows
• Clean telephones and extension phones
