About the role

The Early Childhood Education Centers at Oakton College are seeking Qualified Substitute Teachers and Substitute Assistant Teachers.

Requirements

Qualified Substitute Teacher

• Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred, or
• Associate degree in ECE, or
• Associate degree in related field with 35 hours of ECE credits
• Three (3) years ECE classroom teaching experience with children 2–5 years of age
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Meets all ECE Essential Functions
• Meets DCFS Background Check and Fingerprinting requirements

Substitute Assistant Teacher

• 60 semester hours of college credit with 12 in ECE and one semester (20 hours) experience, or
• One year experience with young children, 30 hours of college credit with 12 in ECE, or
• An ECE credential recognized by DCFS and NAEYC
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Meets all ECE Essential Functions
• Meets DCFS Background Check and Fingerprinting requirements

Pay

$21.59 to $26.89 per hour

Schedule

• Temporary, part-time position limited to 500 work hours
• Duration of assignment is less than one year and may be subject to changes in hours and schedule based on the needs of the area
