Substitute - Cafeteria Technician

Reports to: Cafeteria Manager and Child Nutrition Program Supervisor. Evaluations will be turned in to the supervisor at the end of each school year by the manager(s) they worked for.

Qualifications

• Sufficient ability to follow written instructions and schedules
• Sufficient ability to interpret recipes and necessary printed matter
• Sufficient ability to follow directions and work well with others
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Physical Qualifications

• Be able to perform all job duties (cooking, lifting, sweeping, mopping, etc.)
• Ability to continuously stand or walk
• Ability to bend, climb stairs, and lift frequently
• Ability to lift up to 36 pounds frequently
• Ability to squat occasionally
• Appearance should be neat and clean
• Wear cotton or polyester clothing that can be easily washed if stained
• A solid white or dark gray uniform will be required after you begin subbing
• Hairnet must be worn
• Clean slip-resistant shoes with closed toe and closed heel must be worn
• No jewelry except plain wedding band and/or watch
• No nail polish or fake nails
• No visible tattoos
• No piercings other than ears

Responsibilities

• Food preparation, service, cleaning, recording, and related duties as assigned by manager
• Maintenance of high standards of health, sanitation, and safety
• Cooperation with fellow staff workers, managers, school officials, and parents
• Cleaning duties of kitchen, storeroom, and cafeteria
• Serve food on the line
• Perform any duty, not specifically assigned, as deemed necessary by the manager
