About the role

Under supervision, maintains order and attends to the needs and safety of handicapped students being transported to and from schools.

Responsibilities

• Understand and relate to the needs and behavior of exceptional children
• Make appropriate decisions independently within the established rules and regulations
• Remain calm and act appropriately in stressful situations
• Follow oral and written instructions
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the course of performing duties
• Correctly demonstrate sufficient strength, mobility, and range of motion to arm lift 50 pounds and floor lift 50 pounds in an employee entrance evaluation
• Acquire and maintain a valid first aid and CPR certificate within six months of employment

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, either volunteer or paid is desirable
• Experience with exceptional children is also desirable

Pre-Employment Requirements

• DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
• TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
• Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
• Must obtain and maintain a First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY)
• Pre-Employment Physical Evaluation conducted through the District (Minimum 50 pounds)

Schedule

• Work Months: 9.5
• Hours: 5.0 to 6.0 hours per day, 5 days a week
• Clock Hours: 6:30–9:15 AM, 2:00–5:00 PM

Pay

$20.00 per hour
