SUBSTITUTE BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR 2026-27 STEVENSON ELEMENTARY
About the Role
Substitute building administrators are expected to be stewards of the District's vision, mission, goals, and instructional initiatives. As instructional leaders, they focus on the quality of education offered at their schools, planning and implementing initiatives to improve all aspects of the educational environment. They observe instruction and provide candid, powerful feedback to enhance student learning.

Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a positive learning environment for all.
- Ensure school safety.
- Assist instructional staff with alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state and local district learning goals.
- Monitor, assist, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment practices.
- Manage staff and fiscal resources to support student achievement and legal responsibilities.
- Partner with the school community to promote student learning.
- Demonstrate commitment to closing the achievement gap.
- Exhibit effective communication and interpersonal skills with all constituencies.
- Support all curricular and extra-curricular programs visibly.
Requirements
- Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State Administrative credential.
- At least three years of demonstrated successful teaching experience.
- At least one year of educational leadership and/or supervision experience.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in education or related field.
- Specific training as a school administrator.
- Training and/or experience working with students of diverse educational abilities, backgrounds, skills, and cultures, including special needs, English language learners, special education, and/or “at-risk” students.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred).
- Experience with special education programs.

Physical Requirements
- Positions typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. Involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking and standing.
Conditions of Employment
These are on-call positions. The number of days or hours worked depends on building administrator absences and requests. No specific guarantee of work is offered.
Pay
Hourly rate for 2026-27 is $80.00.

Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life-insurance eligibility is based upon 630 hours worked within a school year.
