Responsibilities
- Manage, direct, and coordinate all phases of substation projects from concept through closeout.
- Maintain responsibility for project profitability, schedule performance, and scope control.
- Prepare proposals, support client presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
- Led project execution activities, including:
- Siting and planning
- Environmental and permitting coordination
- Engineering and estimating
- Right-of-way acquisition
- Procurement and material management
- Constructability reviews
- Construction management
- Project closeout
- Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, and scopes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and compliance requirements.
- Cookordinate subcontractors, internal technical teams, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee project communications and reporting, ensuring transparency and timely issue resolution.
- Establish and implement project policies, procedures, controls, and execution plans.
- Ensure projects adhere to internal QA/QC standards and client expectations.
- Report regularly on project progress, financials, procurement status, safety, environmental concerns, risks, and design issues.
- Support internal functions, including staffing, risk management, legal coordination, and change management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 7 years of utility substation project experience, including at least 3 years in a project management role.
- Experience managing substation projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of utility, government, and public-sector contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to travel as required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company motor vehicle safety requirements.
