Substation Project Engineer
About the role
The Engineering & Construction Business Unit is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join their team in Juno Beach Office, FL. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2).
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support the engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis.
- Provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.
- Cookordination with other project team members to develop and secure a substation site, support any engineering updates, data and permits necessary to design and build the substation.
- Coordinate with other groups to ensure that the assigned E&C renewable generation substation projects are successful.
- Represent E&C's internal and external interests on assigned projects, including presentations/briefing on current progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with various levels of management.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
- 4+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is helpful.
- Project Engineering and Project Management experience with PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with project management tools and software.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural engineering principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $45.00/hr. to $50.00/hr.
