Ulteig is seeking a Graduate Engineer to work in the Substation Department, performing routine engineering tasks and creating drawings, calculations, and designs under the supervision of an experienced engineer. This hybrid role values in-office presence to foster learning and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of engineering systems, including physical substation arrangements, sections/elevations, conduit/grounding layout plans, schematics, wiring diagrams, and material lists.
- Perform design calculations, sketches, plan preparation, technical comparisons, and similar technical work within the Substation market.
- Apply current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasks.
- Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to sound engineering practices.
- Practice efficiency engineering in design selection and recommend improvements to enhance quality.
- Work closely with engineering technicians and experienced electrical engineers.
- Perform detailed engineering design and evaluations within your specialty.
- Prepare reports and correspondence related to assigned projects.
- Participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within the assigned market.
- Demonstrate creativity and latitude in engineering tasks.
- Effectively communicate and interact with clients to meet their needs.
- Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
- Travel up to 15% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Engineering internship experience preferred.
- Coursework in electrical power systems preferred.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.

Pay
Target base compensation range for this role is $79,250 - $96,400. Factors such as job-specific skills, education, training, job location, and years of experience may influence the actual salary.
