Substation Engineering Supervisor

The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking an Engineering Supervisor (ES) for the Substation department. This role involves leading engineering teams, managing projects, and fostering professional development. Reporting to the Substation Associate Director or Technical Manager, the Engineering Supervisor interacts with various business units and supports project management.

What You’ll Do

• Project Technical Lead (70%) - Manage and lead engineering activities during proposal, design, and construction phases. Provide oversight, manage engineering scope, develop change orders, and maintain project schedules. Direct and coordinate activities of multiple disciplines and the Project Management group on significant projects.

• Management Responsibilities (20%) - Provide strategic direction, leadership, and technical oversight for employees. Coach, train, and develop technical staff for growth and development. Facilitate weekly team meetings and manage resource planning. Conduct individual performance reviews and professional development.

• Business Development Responsibilities (10%) - Support proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals. Work with the Proposal Development Team, Project Management group, and other departments. Maintain positive client relationships.

What We Expect From You

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent experience.

• 6+ years of experience in the Engineering field, with a preference for a Professional Engineer (PE) registration or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.

• Strong analytical and information management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in high-pressure situations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), and additional software knowledge based on specialty.

• Permanent authorization to work in the US.

Additional Information

Target Base Compensation Range: $120,800 - $163,500. Factors affecting actual salary include job-specific skills, education, training, job location, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
