About the role
This role is within HDR's Power sector, focusing on substation engineering. You will play a crucial role in shaping how electricity is generated, transmitted, and delivered.
Responsibilities
- Develops a partnership with Project Managers, ensuring technical execution aligns with project scope, schedules, budgets, and client management.
- Collaborates with the technical leadership team to establish processes and procedures for quality control, technical expertise, and project delivery.
- Mentors and trains junior staff, developing internal trainings and technical development plans.
- Plans and assigns project tasks, providing technical guidance to project team members.
- Supports the technical aspects of project scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure, progress assessment, risk assessment, change management, and schedule management.
- Performs quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables according to HDR's Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
- Coordinates and/or performs quality checks and reviews for projects from other teams as needed.
- Manages multiple projects concurrently, leading teams across different locations.
- Identifies and develops specific technical expertise, attending training and seminars to enhance understanding of complex concepts.
- Assists in developing technical papers and presentations for industry conferences or other events.
- Participates in project reviews as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 7+ years related experience
- Minimum 2 years project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- MS Office and MS Project experience required, MS Access experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Qualifications
- Ability to lead multiple projects concurrently
- Experience working with teams in different locations
- Knowledge of HDR's Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage project timelines and budgets
- Experience with project management tools like MS Project
