Substation Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to join our dynamic Power sector team. This role involves developing partnerships with Project Managers, leading technical execution of projects, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develops a partnership with Project Managers, focusing on technical execution.
• Works closely with the technical leadership team to develop processes and procedures.
• Mentors and trains junior staff through internal trainings and technical development plans.
• Assigns project tasks and provides technical guidance to project team members.
• Supports the technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development and progress assessment.
• Coordinates and performs quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables.
• Leads multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
• Identifies and develops specific technical expertise, attends training, and presents HDR’s technical capabilities at industry conferences.
• Participates in project reviews as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree preferred
• PMP certification required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 7 years related experience
• Minimum 2 years project management experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• MS Office and MS Project experience required, MS Access experience preferred
• Demonstrated leadership skills
