About the role

We are seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to join our dynamic Power sector team. This role involves shaping how electricity is generated, transmitted, and delivered, contributing to reliable, resilient, and sustainable power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a partnership with Project Managers, focusing on technical execution while PMs handle scope, schedules, budgets, and client management.
  • Closely works with the technical leadership team to develop processes and procedures for quality control, technical expertise, and project delivery.
  • Mentors and develops junior staff through internal trainings and technical development plans.
  • Develops and implements project execution plans for the technical aspects of projects.
  • Assigns project tasks and provides technical guidance to project team members.
  • Supports the technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development, progress assessment, risk assessment, change management, and schedule management.
  • Coordinates and performs quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables according to HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
  • May lead multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
  • Identifies and develops specific technical expertise under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leaders.
  • Attends training and seminars to further develop and understand complex concepts related to their discipline.
  • Assists in developing technical papers and presentations for industry conferences or other events.
  • Participates in project reviews as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience required
  • Ability to lead multiple projects concurrently
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Qualifications
