About the role

We are seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to join our dynamic Power sector team. This role involves shaping the future of power generation, transmission, and delivery, contributing to reliable, resilient, and sustainable power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a partnership with Project Managers, focusing on technical execution while the PMs handle scope, schedules, budgets, and client management.
  • Closely works with the technical leadership team to develop processes and procedures for quality control, technical expertise, and project delivery.
  • Mentors and develops junior staff through internal trainings and technical development plans.
  • Assigns project tasks and provides technical guidance to project team members.
  • Supports the technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development, progress assessment, risk assessment, change management, and schedule management.
  • Coordinates and/or performs quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables according to HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
  • Participates in project reviews as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years related experience
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience working with teams in different locations
  • Identifies and develops specific technical expertise
  • Attends training and seminars focused on complex concepts
  • Develops and presents technical papers and/or presentations at industry conferences

Skills

Strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills are essential. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project is required, along with the ability to coordinate and review project deliverables according to QMS standards.
