About the role

We are seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to join our dynamic Power sector team. This role involves shaping how electricity is generated, transmitted, and delivered, contributing to reliable, resilient, and sustainable power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a partnership with Project Managers, focusing on technical execution.
  • Collaborates with the technical leadership team to establish processes and procedures for quality control, technical expertise, and project delivery.
  • Mentors and trains junior staff through internal trainings and technical development plans.
  • Plans and assigns project tasks, providing technical guidance to project team members.
  • Manages project scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure, progress assessment, risk assessment, change management, and schedule management.
  • Performs quality checks and reviews for all project deliverables according to HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements.
  • Coordinates and/or performs quality checks and reviews for projects from other teams as needed.
  • Leads multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
  • Identifies and develops specific technical expertise, attends relevant training and seminars, and assists in developing technical papers and presentations.
  • Participates in project reviews as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years related experience
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
