Substation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical substation engineering projects.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and design packages.
  • Perform grounding, fault current, and voltage drop studies.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
  • Cook up with project managers, clients, and engineering teams.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverables.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Maintain project documentation.
  • Travel for site visits and client meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • 7-10 years of electrical substation or power systems engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of substation design and engineering standards.
  • Experience with engineering calculations and technical reviews.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering design software.
  • PE License preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience with medium/high-voltage substations preferred.
