Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology OR High School GED with field experience in Power Delivery.
  • 3+ years of experience in substation or transmission line engineering and/or estimating.
  • Experience with engineering and construction concepts, especially within Power Delivery of high-voltage electric transmission lines.
  • Experience managing a high-volume workload while communicating across multidisciplinary teams, both internally and with external clients.
  • Create initial project schedules and costs.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with high attention to detail and a willingness to learn problem-solving approaches.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand engineering design and drawing packages.
  • Learn and apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
  • Aide in the development of project scope and estimate creating using learned design requirements and experience.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing while continuing to grow technical expertise.
  • Maintain quality of your deliverables and support peer reviews to uphold team standards.
  • Lead client discussions on technical scope, provide solutions, and build strong working relationships through consistent communication.
  • Drive collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams and mentor inexperienced staff.
  • Execute project tasks independently within established scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
  • Participate in occasional site walks for current projects—less than 5% travel.
